We are thrilled to announce that our third Virtual Workshop Series will launch this week, featuring a diverse range of opportunities for our young musicians.

Following the wonderful reception from our previous sessions, we are delighted to introduce a third series, beginning on 23 May. We will be working alongside some exciting new associate organisations to bring our most musically diverse series yet.
Led by a variety of distinguished musicians and educators, these sessions will span across an exciting scope of genres and topics, from afrobeat to our first ever class in Indian Classical.
Young musicians will get the chance to meet and field questions to internationally renowned musicians who have led extraordinary careers. Each session will be open to all members of our Junior and Development Programmes.

23 May | Barry Wordsworth | Musical Pathways Q&A
We will get the ball rolling on 23 May with an exciting first session led by internationally renowned conductor Barry Wordsworth, in conversation with our Relationship Manager, Holly.
Barry has led a wide-ranging career, from principal conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra, becoming conductor laureate in 2006, and continues to conduct at the Royal Ballet Covent Garden.
30 May | Dele Sosimi | Afrobeat Workshop
For the first time, afrobeat musician Dele Sosimi will share his expertise, in a session open to young musicians from all programmes.
Dele has established a distinctive sound and style, while playing classic Afrobeat music in a series of brilliant projects. He has worked as rhythm keyboard player for Nigerian afrobeat creator Fela Kuti between 1979-1986 and is now based in London playing with his own Afrobeat orchestra.
13 June | Jez Wiles | Composition Workshop
We are delighted to welcome Jez Wiles once again to lead two workshops on composition, tailored separately to each of the Junior and Development Programmmes.
Jez has performed with an impressive array of orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra and the English National Opera. He garnered extensive experience in music education, teaching through orchestra education departments LSO Discovery and ENO Baylis, and delivered classes at the Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban and the Academy of Contemporary Music.
20 June | Keranjeet Kaur Virdee, SAA-uk | Intro to Indian Classical
We are thrilled to be providing our first-ever workshop in Indian Classical Music, led by Keranjeet Kaur Virdee, who heads the Leeds-based organisation South Asian Arts-uk. She has played a pivotal role in the organisation’s growth and development, establishing their artistic direction and vision.
We are excited to host this workshop as we focus on accommodating a broader spectrum of musical styles within our programme opportunities, ahead of our expansion into the North of England.
27 June | Howard Monk, Share the Wrd | Careers in Music
Howard Monk will be joined by a special guest to lead an enlightening session on career pathways in music.
Vastly experienced in the industry, Howard has worked with bands including Radiohead and Spiritualized, and is now the Course Leader for Event Management at BIMM Institute in London. This talk will explore pathways into the music industry, making the most of opportunity and building a portfolio.
