Changing the catering game.

Over the last 20 years, we have continued to strive towards our vision, fuelled by our mission, and powered by our values. While over the years our process has evolved, our momentum towards supporting gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds has remained true.

Who we are
Founded in 2004 by The Duchess of Kent and Nicholas Robinson, we break down barriers, create opportunities and harness the power of music to transform the lives of young musicians across the UK.

With over 4.2 million children living in poverty in the UK and thousands of children with exceptional musical abilities failed by society every year, we want to achieve an equal reality where all gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds flourish.

Our programmes offer unique opportunities for young musicians to build confidence, develop personal skills, and enhance their musical experience. Our core is in the evolution of the young lives we affect; inspiring examples of musical talent and life development.
What we do
Programme

Future Talent operates two programmes supporting gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds across the UK:

•   Development Programme supports musicians aged 13-18 years old
•  Junior Programme supports younger musicians at an earlier stage of their musical development.

Our programmes aim to support, develop and listen to the needs and aspirations of our young musicians by providing a range of development opportunities. Our opportunities include expert masterclasses, world-class workshops, one-to-one mentoring sessions and performance opportunities.

Financial

Alongside these opportunities, we also provide our young musicians with financial support. Award amounts vary from £500 per year on the Junior Programme, £1000 per year on the Development Programme or up to £2,000 per year for recipients of named award scholarships.

Awards can be spent on any musical costs throughout the year, including:

           •     Instrument costs
           •     Sheet music
           •     Tech and equipment
           •     Music lessons
           •     Examination fees
           •     Auditions

Check out Join for more information on our different awards.

Our Development and Junior Programmes are run by a hardworking team, including a dedicated Relationship Team, who are on hand to provide guidance, advice and support to our young musicians and their families.
