June 3, 2020

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Junior Programme, open for applications now.

Starting in the 2020-21 academic year, the Junior Programme will support musicians under age 13, who are at an earlier stage of their musical development and show potential to grow.

Currently, our Fledgling Awards support younger musicians, providing them with a financial bursary and a range of performance and development opportunities alongside musicians on theYoung Musicians Development Programme, with awards lasting one year.

Our evolution of the Junior Programme will see a greater level of support provided to younger musicians, with a financial bursary, professional mentoring and performance opportunities together with our other musicians. Our hope for the Junior Programme is that it will be a pathway for early stage musicians to join our Young Musicians Development Programme.

By working in co-operation with a representative of each musician’s support networks – usually a music teacher at their school, local Music Education Hub or Junior Conservatoire Department – we will review their development over 1-3 years with the hope that every Junior musician will graduate to our Young Musicians Development Programme.

Minhaz Abedin, CEO of Future Talent, said:

“Over the last 15 years, we have supported a great number of gifted young musicians from all walks of life from across the UK. We hope with this evolution of our Junior Programme we can reach even more early stage musicians who need our financial and developmental support.”

Applications for the Junior Programme are now closed.
