Christopher Hardy
Christopher is 16 and plays the Tuba. Last year, Future Talent gave him a grant which enabled him to purchase a new EEb tuba of his own, as he had out grown the instruments provided by his local music services.
He is a member of the National Youth Brass Band, and principal BBb bass of the National Children's Brass Band. He is also principal BBb bass at Flixton Brass Band, and hopes one day to be in the tuba section of the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, who are ranked 2nd in the world.
"Future Talent has definitely shaped my hopes and dreams, as the audition process [for Future Champions] gave me confidence in my playing ability and my future as a musician.
On a personal level, the funding for a new tuba has given me a massive boost in confidence and the drive to find a new musical path.
Currently my plans for the future are to hopefully be a world class tuba player in a championship section Brass Band, and within a top orchestra; also I wish to be a contracted tutor within a music centre. My aspirations are very much the same as they were when I applied for funding to Future Talent, and with your helf and funding, my aspirations could become reality."
