Charlotte Beale
Charlotte started her musical career at the age of 5, singing 'Dainty Little Fairies' from Iolanthe in a dancing show. She began piano lessons at the age of 6 and now, ten years later, she has completed all the Grades. At 12 years old Charlotte began singing lessons when it became clear that her voice would be suited to classical music, and she will soon take her Grade 8 ABRSM exam. She received the Future Champions Silver Award for the Oldham area for her singing.
Charlotte also plays flute, and last year toured to New York as a flautist with the Oldham Youth Orchestra. She is mainly interested in classical singing, having a particular interest in choral music, and would like to gain a choral scholarship to Cambridge University. Charlotte has sung at Westminster Abbey, York Minster, Manchester Cathedral and Liverpool Cathedral. She is also interested in musical theater and has recently performed in productions of Les Miserables and The Wiz.
In her spare time (summer holidays!) Charlotte also enjoys recording and singing modern music, and she hopes to do postgraduate work at a music conservatoire when her voice is fully developed.
