Andrej Hagan
Andrej is sixteen and attends Manchester Grammar School. He began piano lessons at eight, and has played in a number of recitals, also
regularly accompanying his brother who is a violinist.
Andrej sang as a treble with the Manchester Cathedral Voluntary Choir for eight years, 'retiring' at Christmas 2007 as Head Chorister. With the choir he had the experience of singing at both St. Suplice and Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. It was whilst in the choir that he first became interested in playing the organ. He began lessons when he joined MGS and has played for many major school events. He is now the organist of a large, south Manchester parish church.
Until recently, Andrej also played the violin with the Rochdale Schools Concert Orchestra and took part in Music for Youth performances in Birmingham and at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
Away from music, Andrej is a keen sportsman. Football and tennis are his major sports, but for many years he was a gymnast, and twice represented the North West in the National Finals of Team Gymnastics.
Andrej will use his Future Champions Bronze award to help him develop his organ skills.
