Nubya Garcia

At the age of 6 Nubya Garcia started playing the violin and progressed to the Viola. Soon, she also took up the Alto Saxophone and reached her ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction. Nubya also became a member of the Camden Youth Jazz Band, where she is currently the leader. She has jammed at the Roundhouse, performed at the Spitz, rocked at the Royal Albert Hall and many other venues in and around London, cumulating with a dream performance at Ronnie Scott’s in July this year.

In 2008, Nubya decided that Jazz music was what she wanted as a career. She successfully auditioned for the junior jazz course at the Royal Academy of Music and is a member of the LSSO performing at the Barbican and touring Spain and Portugal
. Nubya has performed with the Camden Youth Orchestra and toured Barcelona and Germany with Camden Orchestras.

In summer 2009, Nubya was successfully received a full-tuition scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music Five Week Performance Program in Boston USA.

Currently, she is preparing to audition for undergraduate jazz studies at The Royal Academy of Music, Trinity College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Future Talent supports her with lessons to nurture her potential to achieve her ambitions.
