Richard Rayner
Future Talent’s star Richard Rayner started playing drums at the age of six and quickly progressed through the grades, passing grade 8 at the age of 10. He plays in a rock band called Eleventh Hour, writes and sings his own songs and also play piano and marimba.
He currently studies percussion with Rob Farrer, jazz piano at Junior Guildhall and plays in the symphony and jazz ensembles there. Richard won The Junior Guildhall Percussion Prize 2009/10, The Jam Percussion award 2009 and Young Drummer of the Year 2009.
Particular highlights in 2009 for Richard were touring with Thomas Lang and supporting Mark Schulman at one of his clinics. Richard also performed two sets at the International Drum Extravaganza and at both days of the National Drum Fair. He ran a clinic at Rhythmfest and played the BBC "I am England" Anthem for St Georges day. Another highlight for him was playing percussion at The Royal Opera House, St John's Smith Square and Fairfield Hall. He performed at the BBC Proms in The Royal Albert Hall and also opened up the Music for Youth Primary Proms at The Royal Albert Hall.
Richard performed on two days of Music Live with a sell out personal clinic and an additional performance on their main stage.
