leave a legacy
Remembering Future Talent in your will is a wonderful way to make a gift to a new generation.
You can decide how we use your gift, and no matter the size, your legacy will help to nurture the talented young musicians of the UK.
Furthermore, any money bequeathed to Future Talent is exempt from Inheritance Tax, so you can be sure that every penny you leave to Future Talent will come to us.
Making a will is the only way to ensure that your estate will be dealt with according to your wishes upon your death. Many people assume that on their death, their estate will automatically pass on to their spouse or children, but this is not always the case. If you do not make a will, the Law decides how your property and affairs will be distributed. Making a will is very straightforward and can be done with your solicitor, usually at not too great an expense.
The main ways in which you can leave a gift to Future Talent in your will are:
Residuary
This is a share or percentage of your whole estate. Leaving a residuary legacy in your will means that even if your financial circumstances change after the will is made, the proportion of your estate (usually once any expenses, debts and specific gifts have been taken into consideration) bequeathed to the charity will remain the same.
Pecuniary
This is a fixed amount of money, decided when the will or codocil is written, and will not change with a change in financial circumstances.
Specific
This is a gift of a particular item such as stocks and shares, property, furniture, paintings, jewellery or an instrument.
Contingent Gifts
These are gifts that depend on certain events happening if they are to be bequeathed to the charity. For example, a gift may be only left to the charity if other beneficiaries die before the person who made the will.
If you would like to leave a legacy to Future Talent, please contact your solicitor. If you already have a will, it is easy to amend it by adding a codicil.
