Sebastian began formal piano lessons aged three and a half, taking his first two graded exams in 2011 and, at the age of five, was chosen by Lang Lang to participate in the ‘Lang Lang Inspires – Massed Piano Day’ event at the Royal Festival Hall. At aged six, Sebastian became the youngest person to be admitted onto the Classical Music Course studying piano with Magdalena Nasidlak at the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire.
Sebastian’s passed his ABRSM Grade 7 piano with Distinction just after his ninth birthday, winning the ABRSM Beryl Chempin prize for the highest mark in the Midlands. Six months later, still aged nine, Sebastian achieved a Distinction at ABRSM Grade 8. He has also taken part in Masterclasses with Prof. Phillip Martn, Prof. Jan Loeffler and Leon McCawley.
In addition to his piano studies Sebastian enjoys taking singing lessons with John Gull and is a senior chorister at Coventry Cathedral. He achieved a Distinction in his ABRSM Grade 8 Singing exam aged 10.
He also takes Composition as a second study and regularly composes music for piano and voice. Sebastian recently had one of his compositions sung by the choir in an evensong service at Coventry Cathedral. He took his Grade 5 Theory exam aged seven and recently took his Grade 7 Theory.
Apart from music Sebastian enjoys astronomy and in 2014, aged eight, became the youngest person in the country to take Edexcel GCSE Astronomy, passing with an A grade.
Sebastian is thrilled to have been awarded a Worsley Bursary by Future Talent. This will help with the cost of piano lessons. He is keen to participate in any events to help the Charity.
