Charlotte Beale (soprano)
Charlotte began singing at the age of five, when she took part in Dainty little fairies from Iolanthe in a dancing show. She then began piano lessons at the age of six and ten years later she had passed all her grades. Charlotte began to take lessons in singing at twelve when it became clear that her voice would be suited to classical music, and four years on, she took her Grade 8. Charlotte also plays the flute, and in 2008, she went to New York with on tour as a flautist with Oldham Youth Orchestra.
Charlotte is mainly interested in classical singing and has an interest in choral music. Charlotte won the Future Talent Champions silver award in Oldham in 2009 and winning this award has enabled her to continue with her singing lessons, which is helping her work towards hopefully gaining a choral scholarship at Cambridge University. Charlotte has sung at Westminster Abbey, York Minster, Manchester Cathedral and Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. She is also interested in musical theatre and has recently performed in Les Miserables and The Wiz.
Charlotte is hoping to do a postgraduate course at a music conservatoire when her voice is fully developed.
