The Stobbs Scratch Inaugural Concert
The Stobbs Scratch is made up of some of the most talented young singers and instrumentalists in Cambridge. The ensemble was formed by Alex Stobbs and it gave its inaugural concert in the spectacular setting of King’s College Chapel on the 19th June in aid of Future Talent and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The sell-out concert featured a varied programme including a performance from Future Talent Star Edward Tomanek, a 7-year old violinist who opened the concert with Handel’s Sonata in E major.
Alex Stobbs (pictured), is a young musician with cystic fibrosis who was the subject of the Channel 4 Cutting Edge documentaries A Boy Called Alex (2008) and its sequel, Alex: A Passion for Life (2009). Alex was a Chorister at King’s College, Cambridge, then a music scholar at Eton College. He is now a choral scholar at King’s College, where he studies Music.
