Raising the Roof at Ronnie Scott’s!
On November 27th Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club hosted the fourth Future Talent gala fundraiser and holding such an event in an internationally famous music venue, we made sure that the main feature of the evening was the fantastic entertainment. Not only were we treated to toe-tapping performances from Ray Gelato and Devlin Love, but also performances from singer/songwriter Emma Thommen, and of course the fantastic Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, who played all night, led by James Pearson. But undoubtedly the highlight of the evening, was the performances from the winners of the 2008 Future Champions awards, who travelled down from Manchester for the evening. Not only did these talented young musicians each perform a solo, but they came together to play the specially written Future Talent Rag! Many, many thanks must go to the hugely talented James Pearson for putting all this together for us.
We were lucky enough to be able to auction some remarkable pieces, including a signed Grand Piano donated by Yamaha, a Chanel handbag, and a painting by Craigie Aitchison. Each guest left with a fantastic goodie bag which had been hand decorated by children sponsored by Future Talent. Future Talent would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who helped make this event possible – from the parents and chaperones, to our sponsors and donors.
