A Celebration of Music at St Mary’s School, Ascot

On Friday 1 May St Mary’s School, Ascot, hosted a charity concert in aid of Future Talent.  The evening was a great success with an exciting programme of music and star guests.

The concert, which was held in the school’s Rose Theatre, included performances by soloists and choirs from St Mary’s School as well as Future Talent Musicians:  11 year old ‘cellist Isabella Chan and eight year old Avreliy Sergejevs who opened the second half of the concert.

Future Talent Patron Lesley Garrett closed the concert with a variety of arias and songs from Mozart to Rodgers and Hammerstein.  The evening was jointly hosted by radio and television presenter Alan Titchmarsh and pupils Eleanor Begg, Head Girl and Hannah Mackay, Music Captain.

Guests were also invited to a pre-concert champagne and canapé reception in the School’s new refectory where they enjoyed live music from harpist and Future Talent alumni Keri Tsang.

The evening, which raised over £10,000 for Future Talent, was also featured in the local press: Ascot News and Windsor and Eton Express.

On behalf of St Mary’s School, Headmistress Mary Breen said

“St Mary’s has a long standing link with Future Talent and The Duchess of Kent and we were delighted to support the work of this special charity, an evening the whole school could get behind”.

Future Talent is enormously grateful to Mrs Breen, her team and the pupils and parents of St Mary’s School for their enthusiasm, commitment and support
