Hovingham Hall concert on Friday 11th December 2009

On a very cold but beautifully sunny December afternoon Future Talent welcomed guests to Hovingham Hall, in North Yorkshire to showcase the musicians being funded in Yorkshire, East Lincolnshire and beyond.

The sell-out concert featured a varied programme including Hull based cellist Josh Salter playing some Fauré and Shostakovich and singer Will Gosnold, who actually lives in Hovingham performed repertoire from Britten and Handel. Pupils from Wansbeck and Longhill Primary School in Hull entertained the audience with a selection of Christmas songs and guest artists 6 year-old Edward Tomanek wowed the audience with performances both on piano and violin.

The performances were followed by an auction led by local auctioneer Adam Schoen with lots being generously donated by Robert Thompson Craftsmen and Calvert Carpets. The afternoon ended with a mingle over refreshments in the wonderful setting of the venue.

Future Talent would like to thank everyone, who supported and joined us that afternoon to give our talented young musicians the opportunity to show what they are made of and champion our work.
